Uniting Against Lung Cancer Welcomes Frank Aquila of Sullivan & Cromwell to its Board of Directors
New York, N.Y. (September 19, 2013) – Uniting Against Lung Cancer (UALC), a nonprofit dedicated to funding innovative research and raising awareness to find a cure for lung cancer, announces that Frank Aquila, partner and co-head of the General Practice Group at Sullivan & Cromwell, the international law firm, has joined the foundation’s board of directors.
Mr. Aquila will draw on his experience as one of the industry’s leading mergers and acquisitions lawyers to assist the foundation in its fight against lung cancer, and will work to advance UALC’s mission of finding a cure for the nation’s number one cancer killer.

Mr. Aquila’s work with Uniting Against Lung Cancer is a testament to his strong support of community and charitable endeavors. In addition to UALC, Mr. Aquila is involved with several global nonprofits such as Dress for Success Worldwide; the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution; Brooklyn Law School, the Economic Club of New York and the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity; and the American Bar Foundation.
Furthermore, Mr. Aquila has received several professional recognitions of note. He was named by the National Association for Corporate Directors to its “Directorship 100,” as one of the 100 most influential people in corporate governance, and is a two-time recipient of the Burton Award for Legal Achievement.
