Uniting New England Advocates
On May 14, 2008, a passionate group of New England-area lung cancer advocates, including survivors, spouses and other family members of those lost to lung cancer, as well as medical and public health professionals, came together to take action against the disease that has touched them all and changed their lives forever.
With lung cancer survivor Meryl Bralower at the helm, this devoted group has decided to join forces and form a new Partner: Uniting Against Lung Cancer New England.
The mission of Uniting-NE is to unite New England-area lung cancer advocates with a goal of raising research dollars to support lung cancer treatment, and ultimately, to help fund a cure.
The group held its first fundraiser on August 26th on Nantucket; a staged reading of the best-selling book, The Hot Flash Club. The event raised over $16,000 for lung cancer research and raised awareness of the disease!
The group continued its fundraising and awareness efforts during the spring of 2010. Find out about the Uniting New England awareness luncheon and a Kites for a Cure.
