Chicago Lung Run

The Chicago Lung Run, a run, walk, and rally on the city's beautiful lakefront, is held each year in support of lung cancer survivors and their families, and in memory of those who have lost their lives to lung cancer. The mission of the Chicago Lung Run is to raise awareness of lung cancer and to raise much-needed funds for lung cancer research. Started in 2004, the Chicago Lung Run has quickly become one of the largest running events in the city, with more than 2,000 runners, lung cancer survivors, and representatives of leading Chicago hospitals expected this year.

The 7th Annual Chicago Lung Run will be held on September 17, 2011. This year's event will include 10K and 5K races on USATF-certified courses, a 1-mile walk, and a rally featuring an awards ceremony and remarks by leading lung cancer researchers. Proceeds from the 2011 Chicago Lung Run will benefit cutting-edge lung cancer research through the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago and Uniting Against Lung Cancer.
