"It's Time to Talk"

Uniting Against Lung Cancer New England's "It's Time to Talk" Luncheon, held at the Pine Brook Country Club in Weston, MA, raised more than $225,000 to support our lung cancer research programs.

Event chairs, Meryl Bralower, Sondra Levenson and Stephanie Steinberg brought together a powerhouse group of researchers and advocates in the Boston-area including:

• Heather Unruh, WCVB Channel 5 Anchor, who was presented with the Marjorie E. Korff "Speak Out Award” for her coverage of lung cancer
• Dr. Pasi Jänne of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute who was awarded with the "Excellence in Research Award" for his study of targeted therapies for patients with the EGFR mutation.
• Dr. Jeffrey Engleman, Chief of Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, who served as the keynote speaker.

This “sold-out” event with more than 315 attendees brought the community together to learn more about local lung cancer research and advocacy. The event memorialized Margie E. Korff, a never smoker diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer in 2006 and honored local survivors.
